Common classification of the led road light

According to the light color emitted by LEDs, they can be classified as red, orange green (also can be subdivide into yellow-green, standard green and pure green), blue. In addition, some LEDs contain two or three color chips. These colored LEDs can also be divided into colored transparent, transparent, colored scattering and colorless scattering four types, that is depends on whether scattering diluents are doped into them. The scattering LEDs are not suitable for led high bay.

According to the light-emitting surface characteristics, LEDs can be divided into Circular light, rectangular light, surface light, lateral light, and so on. Normally, diameter of circular light diameter is divided into φ2mm, φ4.4mm, φ5mm, φ8mm, φ10 mm and φ20mm. The distribution of luminous intensity angles can be estimated though half-value angles. And in accordance with distribution of luminous intensity angles, led road light can be classified as follows:

1)      High directivity light: Generally epoxy packing, or a metal reflector cavity, with no scattering diluents. The half-value angle ranges from 5 ° to 20 ° or even smaller. This type of led road light has very high directivity, can be used for local lighting.

2)      Standard light. Usually used for indicator light, its half-value angle could between 20 ° and 45 °.

3)      Scattering light. This is a type of indicator light with a relatively larger visual angle, half-value angle is within 45 ° and 90 ° or even larger. Scattering led road light should be doped by a large amount of scattering diluents to reinforce the scattering effect.
